What is this event, actually?

Well, it’s not even really a formal event, but more of an informal opportunity for friends (old and new) to spend a little time together, catch up, and enjoy some live music. A few of us realized that Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers were playing at the Beer City Music Hall in Oklahoma City on Saturday, February 18, 2023. This happens to be a holiday weekend (for some), and since there were a few of us planning to attend this show, we thought it would be a good opportunity to recruit others.

Concerts are always fun, but they’re really fun when all your friends are there to sing along. Also, many of us always have the best of intentions to meet up during Oklahoma State Homecoming activities, but that is always such a busy time…so we thought we needed another opportunity. And, there are a few of us who always talk about having a reunion "of sorts”, so consider this an attempt to get something started. :-)

Why did you create a whole website for an informal gathering?

Websites are the easiest way to share information and make sure everyone has the most up-to-date information (when organizing a group). While there are options on various social media platforms, not everyone is on those platforms so we wanted to make sure everyone (who’s interested) had a chance to “stay in the know”.

How much does it cost to participate?

There’s no charge for our informal gathering. Tickets are required for the Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers concerts. They are $25 (plus fees) and can be purchased here. Depending on the level of interest, we may try and secure an event space for the pre-concert social gathering, hang out time. In this scenario, there will likely be some cost that all of us will need to share (for those who attend).

Who should attend?

Anyone is welcome. The concert venue on Saturday is all ages. Otherwise, those who’ve committed so far are folks who were in/around Stillwater/Oklahoma State/Wormy Dog/etc during the late 90’s and early 2000’s.

Is anyone coming in from out of town? Where should I stay?

Yes! Several us are traveling from various places and have booked rooms at the 21C Museum Hotel (which is super close to the concert venue). We don’t have a group rate or any relationship with this property. There are numerous hotel options in the OKC area.

Will there be swag?

Should there be swag? Depending on interest, this is something we are considering! Join the mailing list at the bottom of the page or fill out the RSVP form to let us know if you’re interested in possible swag items (e.g., buttons/stickers, matching t-shirts, etc). If the interest is there, we will try to secure some items (and will provide them to you at cost).

How should I let you know I want to participate?

This part is easy! Simply fill out our RSVP form here. As we work to build the schedule (depending on interest), we will send emails with updates, surveys, etc. If you’re not so sure if you want to participate but are interested in staying up to date, just join our mailing list at the bottom of the page!

What should I do if have ideas/questions or want to help plan?

We’d love to get your questions, and welcome any ideas, suggestions, and help to get things organized if you’re interested! This is just a little side project for us, and as we’ve said, everything is really informal. Just head on over to the Contact Us page and fill out the form there.
